Kate Taylor Welcomes you

Letter from Kate 8/12/08 Greetings fellow earthlings. Happy birthday to all my Leo friends! We were at Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs, MA last Sunday night and had the most fun and amazing night, and thank you to all who came! I almost can't believe the night we had! It was exceptional to see the wisdom and the talent and the soul of the Neville Brothers in our very own home. Where do I begin describing them? They are all so talented, but the presence and the heart of Aaron Neville is like none other. And the Boston Pops! And then to have the AMAZING Gladys Knight on our very own home sod. I haven't touched ground yet. After three gigs in one week with the folks from Festival Network, I can tell you these folks know how to put on a show. We're off in a couple of days to Westbury, Long Island, NY for our Live Nation show with America. I opened for them in the '70's and look forward to seeing them again. I will be looking for you out there. Please stay in touch. As always, if you feel like writing me I can be reached at kate@katetaylor.com. I'd love to hear your comments about the shows, the songs, what's going on with you and what you are feeling... You are the best! Love from Kate

Letter from Kate 8/7/08 Dear friends and new visitors, We have been having so much fun, I just wanted to tell you a little about what we've been up to! First, Liz and Ken, the fabulous film-makers of docutunes.tv fame, have posted the first video from what will be our forthcoming DVD, "Tunes from the Tipi". Please check this out at Docutunes.tv, we are very excited about it and it is fun to watch if I do say so myself! While you are there, check out what nephew Ben Taylor and friends have been up to, there is video of them as well. The band and I have been up to plenty this week, playing three separate appearances in Newport, RI. We had two shows at the Newport Folk Festival and one private appearance at a party celebrating the 25th anniversary of WMVY, the Vineyard's amazing radio station that is now famous across the planet and beyond via the internet. So much fun, this should be illegal, but fortunately it's not. Stay tuned, as I want to rave on later about these shows and others that we have coming up... I will be posting bulletins here on a regular basis, so check in often. I can be reached via email at kate@katetaylor.com, and I welcome your letters. See you out there dearies! Love, Kate

We are pleased to announce Kate appeared twice at the famed Newport Folk Festival on Aug 1-3 in Newport, RI. On Friday August 1, she opened for music legend Brian Wilson at their gala kickoff concert at the Newport Casino. On Sunday she played to a very enthusiastic crowd at the main Fort Adams festival site, along with Jimmy Buffett, Levon Helm and many other great musicians.  Click here to see some photos from the Brian Wilson show.

A sneak preview of Kate's upcoming DVD, Tunes from the Tipi, is now available for viewing over at Docutunes TV. Filmmakers Liz Witham and Ken Wentworth have launched this new internet television station, www.docutunes.tv that will show films highlighting the best music of Martha's Vineyard

Kate now has her own music channel on YouTube where you can view some recent television appearances and live concert clips.

Kate, along with her brothers Hugh, Livingston and James, was featured in a beautiful Annie Leibovitz photo tribute to American Folk Artists in the November 2007 issue of Vanity Fair Magazine. Click to see video or a slide show of the shoot, or read a behind the scenes article.
